LHF Grass Fed Beef

LHF Cowpooling

GRASS FED, PASTURED, ALL NATURAL BEEF is one of the healthiest meats and protein sources you can eat. Full of Omega 3’s and CLA (conjugated Linoleic acid), grass fed beef has been shown to be a great ally in combating many types of cancer, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and triglycerides, osteoporosis and has been found to mimic the effect of synthetic diabetic drugs. We have all been conditioned to believe that all red meat is BAD for us. However, a cow that is raised or stewarded the way God intended is VERY healthy for us to eat.

We eat Beef because of the protein source that it offers us, along with other essential vitamins, minerals and fatty acids that are found in animals that are raised humanely, the way they were meant to be---on pastures, eating grass, not in an unnatural and inhumane cow concentration camp (feedlot) eating genetically modified grains and soy that they are not designed to eat. The practice of feeding cows grain began in the 1940’s as a way to accelerate weight gain and add fat to cattle.  Cows were designed to eat grass and their digestive process of “recycling” undigested food from mouth to stomach causes the grass to break down and add protein. However, when fed corn, their digestive processes cause the corn to sour and kills beneficial bacteria. As the unhealthy bacteria multiply, the cow becomes sick and sick cows require antibiotics, hormones and steroids!

By purchasing LHF Beef, you not only know where your food comes from, but how it was raised and treated.  So, if you eat beef, enjoy good healthy beef. Beef that has been raised humanely, beef that has been free to graze on pasture, beef that has been stress free, beef that has been blessed for their sacrifice and thanked for the goodness and the energy their meat provides.

Whether you buy a SHARE, a PACKAGE or a CUT be assured you are getting the best LoganBerry Beef. All our meat is dry aged for 14 days, cut according to our instructions, shrink wrapped, labeled and frozen.

WHY WE ASK A BLESSING FOR OUR BEEF

Many of you know that we are a different kind of Farm here at LoganBerry.  We view farming as a stewardship and as a way to connect with Nature for health and healing, rather than just to grow food. In Wholistic farming, animals are an integral part of the farm organism. While we are not a “beef producer” we do raise beef cows for healing the land, their manure for composting and for food. As a result of this practice, we only offer a limited number of beef cows per year for purchase.

We strongly feel it is important to recognize and participate in the spiritual connection to the natural world, with food being central to this connection.  We eat food for the energy (life, spirit) it gives our body.  The healthier the food, the more energy (life, spirit) it gives the body. And healthy food comes not only from the physical health of the animal but, also, through the emotional health. As stewards, we insure that our cows are calm up to the moment of their sacrifice; therefore retaining their “chi energy” and not releasing stress hormones into their flesh.

We especially recognize that animals hold different life-force energy from plants and we take the view that we should honor and ask our Creator (divine life, spirit) to bless our animals before they are killed for our body's nourishment.

The actual word "blessing" is associated with "blood".  Since animals differ in their relationship to man than do plants, through the shedding of their blood, we feel we should give thanks for their lives. In turn we ask that their bodies be blessed for ultimate good and health to those who eat them, and for divine favor for their sacrifice.
